In 1992, after a couple of years as a freelance consultant and trainer, David founded First Base Training and First Base Consultants Ltd, operating as a vendor-independent training and consultancy practices. As part of InfoSec Associates, First Base Training now provides information security consultancy and training services to clients such as The European Commission, Lloyds TSB, Sony, GlaxoSmithKline, Woolworths and Lex.

David now has responsibility for training from InfoSec Associates. This encompasses the 'Mission Possible' range of fully customisable Information Security Awareness products and a range of scheduled technical courses. His responsibilities also extend to the authoring and distribution of policies and procedures as well as general consultancy.
David is one half of the presentation team that developed and deliver the BSI Infosec Framework and implementation seminar, as well as a range of security and business continuity courses aimed at the SME market.
